Gold mine increases drilling production using UltraTerra core bits
November 1st, 2013
Under our new Free Bit program we sent out a free N2 W/L #6X, 16 mm bit to our distributor. Smithers Parts & Service. Our distributor sent this free bit to their customer at the Huckleberry Mine in British Columbia.
The contractor was using one of the newest and most powerful diamond drill built by Zinex Mining Corp to drill a silicified greenstone rock formation. This formation varies and alternates between competent and hard rock: 200′ (= 61 m) zones to 100′ (30 m) zones of very fractured and abrasive conditions.
Using the newest, patented core bit technology from Diaset Products, the drilling contractor reported the following results:
- Bit life of 1200’ = 366m
- Diaset’s UltraTerra increased bit life by 30m compared to the other brand the contractor was using
- The bit cut faster with less horsepower
- The UltraTerra is cheaper than the other brand they were previously using
Using the UltraTerra core bit, the contractor was able to cut freely and drill faster in hard rock. This less expensive core bit was able to perform well above industry standards.
The Diaset UltraTerra core bit successfully penetrated the silicified greenstone rock formation and considerably increased yield for the contractor.
The combined use of the newest drilling technology and Diaset’s new patented core bit technology will enable the contractor to prosper in the mineral exploration industry.
